Best iPhone Screen Protector Review

Hey guys, In this occasion I am going to be reviewing some screen protectors for the iPhone X.

Although a screen protector can’t fully protect your iPhone screen from cracking, it will definitely minimize the chance. To maximize protection I recommend to also get a good hard case like this one

What a good screen protector can do for you is to protect from scratches that can affect the integrity of the original screen thus making cracks to happen more likely.

So in this review we will mainly  focus on these things:

  • Installation Difficulty
  • Scratch Resistance
  • Price

Maxboost Screen Protector with Advanced Clarity

  • Price: $13.95
  • Installation Difficulty: Fairly Easy
  • Scratch Resistant: No scratches or marks from knife
  • Warranty: Life time against defectiveness
  • Thickness:  0.25mm Tempered glass
  • Availability: For iPhone iPhone 6, 7, 8, X, Xr, Xs, Max and their Plus sizes

Price: The cost for this screen protector is not too bad compared to other ones sold at the mall or at the carrier stores like Verizon or AT&T raging somewhere between $40 – $50 and considering that the MaxBoost Screen Protector comes in a pack of three it is a very good deal. It is a hot seller on Amazon at the current moment and stands with 4.5 stars rating.

Installation: Comes with worry free installation kit and there are also some installation tutorials on their site: dust removal stickers, Alignment mount, wet and dry wipes fro cleaning original screen before installation and 3 x screen protectors in case you mess up the first two during installation.

Highlight:  The Maxboost Screen Protector is one of the best out there for the price it is not the cheapest but it does a descent job protecting and the quality is much better than the ones for .50 cents from ebay.

It come with a life time warranty meaning that in case it arrives with any defects or it starts to peel off  your iPhone screen after some time you can contact the seller so they can send you a replacement.

It’s 0.25mm thin which makes the 3D touch feature on the iPhone work as a champ and is one of the thinnest in the current market.

Listed features:

  • Natural Touch
  • Anti-FingerPrint
  • Ultra Slim
  • Hydrophobic Coating
  • 9H Super Hardness
  • Price: $12.99 about a buck cheaper than the previous one
  • Installation Difficulty: Easy
  • Scratch Resistant: No scratches or marks from a knife
  • Warranty: Life time
  • Thickness: 0.25mm Tempered glass
  • Availability: For iPhone X, Xs, Xr and X Max

Price: At around one buck less than its previous counterpart still not the cheapest one on the market but the XDesing Screen Protector does come in a pack of three as well. It stands at 5 stars reviews on Amazon which is just a bit better than the MaxBoost.

Installation: It also comes with the necessary installation tools like  dust removal stickers, alignment mount and wet and dry wipes for pre installation cleaning. There are also video guide for installation.

Highlights: The XDesign Screen Protector is an economic choice compared to the more expensive counterparts found at carrier stores like Verizon or AT&T just to mention some and the quality is not far from the same. I would say the main difference is just the price as it does the same job because like I said before, none of the screen protector on the market guarantee that your screen will never brake.

It also comes with a life time warranty in case the screen protector comes defective or starts to peel off the screen after some time you can contact the seller to get a replacement.

It’s 0.25mm thin which makes the 3D touch feature on the iPhone work as a champ and is one of the thinnest in the current market.

Listed Features:

  • Hydrophobic Coating
  • HD Clarity
  • Touch Compatible
  • Ultra Thin

Notice that the features are almost the same as the MaxBoost previously mentioned and the only thing I could not find anywhere in the XDesign description is the 9H Super Hardness.

  • Price: $5.99 lower price but note that it is a pack of 2
  • Installation Difficulty: Moderate
  • Scratch Resistant: Although the product listing states is scratch resistant I was able to make a slight scratch using a knife
  • Thickness: 0.33mm Tempered glass
  • Availability: For iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 8 and Plus sizes as well as iPhone X, Xs, Xr and X Max.

Price: Well here we have a little debate because even though the price is about half compared to the MaxBoost and XDesign the amFilm comes with only 2 and the quality seems to be a bit less than the others. It stands at 4 stars rating which is not too bad also.

Installation: I comes with some of the tools for a moderate difficult installation. It does not include the aligning mount which I find extremely important for a hassle free and smooth installation.

installation tools are dust removal stickers, wet and dry wipes for pre cleaning, squeeze card to get rid of bubbles and an installation manual.

Highlights: The amFilm Screen Protector is a more economic choice that offers a lower degree of protectiveness compared to their counterparts specially on the scratch resistant feature.

As far as warranty in case of defects I could not find any details on the product listing so you might want to ask the seller before buying just in case the screen protector starts to peel of after some time.

It is 0.33mm thin which is a 0.08 thicker than the others, although it seems not to be much of a difference, it can sometimes impact on the 3D Touch feature on your screen so keep in mind in case you actually make use a lot of the 3D Touch.

Listed Features:

  • Highly Responsive
  • 9H Scratch Resistant
  • Oleophobic Coating
  • High Transparancy

This one is still a good option if you want to save a few bucks or if it is your first time applying a screen protector to gain confidence and don’t mind trading of a little less quality.

You might also want to get the amFilm Screen Protector in addition to any of the others mentioned in this post to try it out and decide whether it is the best choice for you.

And The Winner Is…

Well at the end it all comes down to quality for me. My personal choice is the XDesign because like the MaxBoost seems to be same quality and even though the XDesign lacks of the 9H feature on their listing I don’t think that makes a huge difference because like I mentioned before there is no screen protector that will 100% guarantee that your screen will never break and that also depends on the kind of case you are using. By the way I will also post some hard cases reviews to complement.

Because of that the XDesign is the best bang of the buck as far as quality and price. Sure there are more economic choices like the amFilm but you will be getting a bit less quality.
